Sharing the exact 24 steps of my Wedding Floristry Workflow

Fun fact, before I started my floristry business, I didn’t really know how to send an email… (embarrassing). I understood the concept but I had no idea how to use emails to effectively communicate and make my clients feel safe and confident along their journey.

As business grew, so did the amount of emails I had to sent.
I was drowning in brain melting admin and remember thinking “I started this business to create with flowers and now all I seem to do is sit at my computer”.

One day I decided I was done with being that person and make a change.

I discovered this magical concept called a “workflow”, not only that but I invested in a Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) and watched many tutorials on how to set up and automate a chain of emails and events that would make my clients feel special and taken care of every step of the way.

I took it one step further and set up a system that allowed them to quote their own wedding florals. I was obsessed with automation and efficiency.

While I was out at a wedding, grabbing a coffee or sleeping I had over 50 inquires a month coming into my world, receiving automated, personal, on -brand emails, selecting their floral elements and asking to book me in (which was also set up seamlessly).

I felt like I’d rigged the system but at least now I had a scaleable business that allowed time back in my life to actually design with flowers.

So, what's a workflow?

A workflow is essentially a step-by-step process that outlines all the tasks and actions needed to accomplish a specific goal or complete a project. It's like a roadmap that guides you from the beginning to the end of a task, ensuring that everything gets done efficiently and effectively.

For wedding florists, having a workflow means having a structured plan in place for every aspect of their work with clients, from the initial consultation to the final arrangements on the big day to the glowing testimonial you’re about to receive.

It helps you stay organised, manage your time effectively, and ensure that no important details are overlooked.

An effective workflow also ensures your clients are taken care along their client journey. Maintaining trust, setting boundaries, managing expectations and pre-empting any questions they might have.

By breaking down the entire process into manageable steps, a workflow helps wedding florists streamline their work, minimise mistakes, and ultimately deliver the best possible service to their clients while also creating a strong brand, a scaleable business, and, when optimised with automation - gives you back those lost hours in your day.
