Are you afraid of booking a high budget client?

business business growth floral entrepeneur floristry business wedding florist

Between you and me, have you ever had the fear that if you increase your minimum spend, or try to attract or book a higher budget client, that you will have to:

A. Deal with the most difficult, fussy, nit-picky clients and do so much extra work

or

B. Do the most boring briefs, have no creativity and create basic florals?

or

C. Have to wear blazers all the time, always have your makeup done perfectly, be professional and maybe pretend to be somebody who you're not.

These are actually some of the fears that I told myself again and again when I wanted to rebrand my business, and position myself higher.

I wanted to share with you guys exactly what happened after I did that, just in case you're letting the same limiting beliefs hold you back from taking the leap.

I doubled my minimum spend from $5,000 to $10,000 and started marketing towards a higher budget client.

What my business looks like now:

1. I attract clients who are the most amazing, trusting, beautiful, relaxed people in the world. They give me full creative freedom and do not take up too much of my time. I actually have less communication and more trust. They value my business, my creativity, and also my pricing.

2. The concepts are cooler. I get to do so many cool things, collaborate with amazing vendors, the budgets are better, and I have more free range to do what I want to do. Most of the time I get to dream up really fun, amazing, satisfying, filling briefs, and my clients love me for it. When I'm working on a wedding now, it's at a stunning venue with the best team, and I get to create something amazing.

3. (As much as I love wearing blazers) I actually spend most of my time in activewear and comfy linen sets. I rarely wear makeup or feel the need to dress up.

It's not that I don't offer a professional service, it's that I can confidently show up and be myself. I don't have to pretend to be somebody else in my business. This means there's no imposter syndrome or freaking out about my appearance all the time. I don't have to pretend to be a business owner with nice hair and good nails. It's not gonna happen.

Obviously now looking back in hindsight, I can see that all of those fears I had were just stories I was telling myself to prevent me from taking the scary risk.

None of it was true, none of it turned out to be true.

Positioning my brand higher and chasing a different type of ideal client has been the best thing I've ever done for my business!

The most unexpected and coolest thing that turned out from this, was that I got to work less and make more.

Seems backwards, but it's true. Join me inside the Wildflower Membership where I share all of my skills and secrets I've learnt along the way.
