The 3 Best Investments I Made for My Floristry Business
We’ve been chatting inside our Wildflower Membership Group about the best investments we’ve ever made for our floristry businesses. I’m sharing three of the most impactful investments I made since starting my business:
-
A Flower Fridge
A fridge was a simple yet crucial investment I made for my business and flowers! I saved up every bit of profit from my first few weddings and bought a fridge through a catering supply company that my partner knew (Chef's and Florists need so much of the same equipment, who knew.. 🤷🏼♀️). Seven years later, that trusty 2 door fridge is still going strong, keeping my flowers cool and fresh and minimising wastage. It was the first thing that made me feel like a real life floristry biz owner.
-
Customer Relationship Manager (CRM)
As my business blossomed and the bookings came flying in, I realised the need for a more organised and efficient system. In the world of event bookings, especially in the wedding industry where planning can span over a year, having all crucial information in one place became a game-changer. No more lost papers or looking unproffessional as I flicked through messy notebooks at meetings; with automated workflows, emails, and invoicing, my CRM not only streamlined operations but also reassured clients that they were in capable hands. For any chaotic creative seeking organisation in their business, a CRM is a must.
-
Education and Self Development
The most substantial investment I've made transcends physical assets, it's the ongoing commitment to education and self-improvement. Recognising that knowledge is the key to unlocking unlimited potential, I've immersed myself in a plethora of learning opportunities. From podcasts to audiobooks and reading to enrolling in courses and seeking mentorship. A famous quote once resonated deeply with me: "The only reason you don't have a million-dollar business is that you don't yet have the knowledge of how to create one." This one struck a chord, it just makes so much sense to me.
Constant learning has not only elevated my business acumen but also fuelled my personal growth. Embracing the mindset of an eternal learner, I am committed to closing the knowledge gap, one lesson at a time. The return of investment is massive.
Investments are more than financial transactions, they are stepping stones toward success. My journey in the floristry business has been shaped by many strategic choices and lessons learnt, but these top 3 have become absolute game-changers when it comes to running a floristry business.
